Microphone Setup

Use your acoustic piano or any instrument with microphone detection (currently in Beta).

⚠️

Microphone detection works best with the backing track muted or very low, as external audio can interfere with note detection. Choosing microphone during first-time setup lowers the backing track automatically.

Steps to Connect

  1. •Go to Settings → Audio Input
  2. •Select MIC as your input type
  3. •Grant microphone permission when prompted
  4. •For best results, place your microphone close to your instrument
  5. •Lower the Backing track volume in the volume mixer if needed

Calibrating Microphone Latency

To ensure accurate note detection timing:

  1. •Go to Settings → Timing Settings → Microphone Latency
  2. •Place your microphone near your speakers
  3. •Click "Calibrate microphone"
  4. •The app will play a beep and measure the delay
  5. •Your latency offset will be automatically adjusted

Tips for Better Accuracy

  • •Play in a quiet environment
  • •Use headphones or mute the speakers during play
  • •Position the microphone close to your piano
  • •Avoid rooms with lots of echo
  • •Keep the backing track volume low

Microphone input is in beta and may not be as accurate as MIDI. For the most reliable note detection, consider using a MIDI connection.
